  2.                      * ANSIED Full Screen Editor HELP *
  3.  
  4.      ANSIED is a full-screen editor that lets you enter and edit
  5.      messages on the BBS.  To use ANSIED, just type in your text.  The
  6.      words will wrap automatically, just like in the normal RBBS line
  7.      editor.  If you make a mistake, you can backspace over it, also
  8.      just like in the normal line editor.
  9.  
  10.      When you are done entering the message, press ESCape twice.  This
  11.      will bring up a menu of things you can do.  To save the message,
  12.      select S)ave.  To quit the message without saving, select A)bort.

  15.      To move the cursor around on the screen, try the arrow keys on
  16.      your keyboard. If they don't work, use the Wordstar (tm)
  17.      "diamond" key combinations to replace the cursor keypad.  They
  18.      look like this (^ = Ctrl):

  28.      To get your keypad keys to work, you might need to change the

  30.      "ANSI-BBS."

  57.      o  If you've "quoted" lines of another person's message, and want
  58.         to delete some of the extra quoted lines, use the main menu
  59.         command D)elete, as explained below.
  60.  
  61.      o  If your screen is garbled due to line noise, use the main menu
  62.         P)aint command, which will repaint your screen.
  63.  
  64.      o  You can't change the text on lines below the "[* End of
  65.         Message *]" marker, or on certain RBBS system lines at the
  66.         beginning of your message.  To enter text, just move off of
  67.         those lines.

  70.      o  If you make a lot of changes to the message, and it looks
  71.         "choppy," use the main menu command R)eflow, which will clean
  72.         up the messages' appearance.

  74.      o  If you start something that you want to get out of (like
  75.         D)elete), press ESCape to quit.

  77.      o  You can't enter extended ASCII characters into a message.

  79.      o  You shouldn't "upload" messages into ANSIED.

  82.                             -- Main Menu Commands --

  84.      From the main ANSIED menu, you have quite a few choices:
  85.  
  86.      H)elp ...... What you are reading now.  CTRL-X or CTRL-K quits.
  87.  
  88.      S)ave ...... Saves your message.
  89.  
  90.      A)bort ..... Quits the message, but does NOT save it.  This
  91.                   function will prompt you to make sure this is really
  92.                   what you want to do.
  93.  
  94.      D)elete .... Deletes a block of lines.  Where the cursor was when
  95.                   you selected D)elete is the beginning of the block.
  96.                   Press ENTER on the last line of the block to delete.
  97.                   The block end can be before the block begin, if you
  98.                   like.  The lines will be deleted, including the
  99.                   first and last lines of the block.

  102.      J)ustify ... Right justifies the entire message to the left and
  103.                   right margins. Justification will add "soft spaces"
  104.                   on the screen (which look like '·').  These will
  105.                   become "real" spaces in the message when you save
  106.                   it.

  108.      R)eflow .... Reflows the text in the message to remove the
  109.                   choppiness of lines. Reflow won't bother paragraph
  110.                   starts or quoted text.
  111.  
  112.      I)ns/Ovw ... Toggles INSert/OVerWrite mode on the editor.  In
  113.                   INSert mode, text inserted  in the middle of a line
  114.                   will move the rest of the line to the right.  In
  115.                   OVerWrite mode, text entered replaces that at the
  116.                   current cursor position. Words will wrap either way.

  119.      P)aint ..... Repaints  the current  screen.   This shows you
  120.                   exactly what is in your message.  Use this when line
  121.                   noise garbles your display.

  123.      sU)bject ... Modifies the message subject.
  124.  
  125.      impO)rt .... (SysOps only) Imports a file from disk.  Enter the
  126.                   full pathname to the file when prompted.
